New Chevrolet 2022 Chevrolet Silverado HD for Sale in Warwick
Configurations, Trims, and Powertrains
The ’22 Silverado HD is available as either a 2500 or a 3500, which both can be configured with a regular, double, or crew cab and either a standard or long bed. The 2500 is offered in Work Truck (WT), LT, Custom, LTZ, and High Country trims, while the 3500 is available in all but Custom. The 2500 LTZ is sold in double and crew cab body styles, but the 3500 LTZ and the High Country are only available with the crew cab.
The standard powertrain is a 6.6-liter gasoline-burning V8 (401 hp and 464 lb.-ft. of torque) with a six-speed automatic transmission. A 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 making 445 hp and 910 lb.-ft. of torque is available; it gets a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission. Every trim but the High Country has standard rear-wheel drive with an option to order four-wheel drive (4WD comes standard on the High Country). The 3500 can be ordered with single or dual rear wheels.
The towing capacity of Silverado HD 2500s with the 6.6-liter gasoline-burning V8 is 14,500 pounds when it’s equipped with a conventional trailering hitch. The same configuration with a 5th-wheel gooseneck hitch can tow up to 17,370 lb. With the Duramax diesel powerplant, the 2500 can haul as much as 18,500 lb. with either hitch. With the conventional hitch, a 3500 with the gas V8 and can take on up to 16,800 lb.; with the Duramax diesel that capacity rises to 20,000 lb. Those limits are again higher with the 5th-wheel gooseneck, where the gas can tow up to 17,200 lb. and the diesel as much as 36,000 lb.
The ’22 Silverado HD also offers a class-best 15-angle camera system that includes a cargo-bed view, a rear side-view, and a rear trailer view with a trailer-angle indicator. Lane changes are made safer with the jack-knife alert system and a trailer-length indicator. Not only that, but the segment-first Advanced Trailering System mentioned in the intro lets you customize trailer profiles and keep up to speed on important towing data, like exterior trailer lighting diagnostics, predeparture checklists, and other useful stats.
The 6.6-liter gas V8 2500 with RWD can haul as much as 3,979 lb. with RWD and 3,965 lb. with 4WD. With either RWD or 4WD, the Duramax-equipped 2500 can carry up to 3,715 lb. As expected, the 3500 can take on more: those with the gas V8 and RWD top out at 7,442 lb. of payload and 7,145 lb. with 4WD. With the Duramax diesel, the RWD 3500 can haul as much as 6,523 lb., which dips to 6,196 lb. with 4WD.
Standard and Available Equipment
The base Work Truck gets more than just the essentials. Features like trailering mirrors, a dozen cargo area tie-down hooks, a center console storage compartment, and a 40/20/40 split front bench seat help it earn its name every day on the job. The LT ups the ante with an EZ-lift tailgate and keyless entry, and the Custom adds LED taillights and power-adjustable trailering mirrors. The more upscale LTZ comes with the Advanced Trailering System, LED headlights and fog lights, auto-dimming mirrors (outside and inside), a 120V box-mounted power outlet, and push-button start, and its cab is made more comfortable with dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, and heated and perforated leather front seats. The range-topping High Country gets assist steps, LED cargo bed lights, a spray-on bedliner, tinted glass, a power tailgate, wireless smartphone charging, ventilated front seats, driver’s seat position memory, and heated rear outboard seats. Some of those amenities are optional on the lower trims. The LTZ and High Country are eligible for a 15-inch head-up display, and every trim can be ordered with the Multi-Flex tailgate.
Active Safety Technology
While a full array of air bags and a rearview camera come standard on all 2022 Chevrolet Silverado HDs, quite a few advanced driver-assist technologies are available either through optional packages or as standard features on the more expensive trims. The WT and Custom are eligible for the Safety Confidence Package (forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking), and the LT and LTZ can be upgraded with their own Safety Package (front and rear park assist, lane change and side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, and perimeter lighting). For the LTZ and High Country, the available Safety Package II supplies forward collision alert, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, and a safety alert seat. A surround-view monitor is available for the LTZ and standard on the High Country.
The WT gets the most basic infotainment system, which has all of the essentials: a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a two-speaker audio system, and Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming. The LT upgrades to an 8-inch touchscreen and gains SiriusXM satellite radio and a Wi-Fi hotspot. While the Custom goes back to the 7-inch touchscreen, it improves the sound system with two more pairs of speakers. The 8-inch infotainment unit returns in the LTZ, adding voice recognition and wireless smartphone integration (features that are optional on the LT). The High Country gets a fully loaded system with navigation and a top-shelf seven-speaker Bose sound system.
