The ‘23 Blazer is made in the same four trims as the outgoing edition: 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier. The 2LT, 3LT, and Premier have a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 228 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, while a 3.6-liter V6 stirring up 308 hp and 270 lb.-ft. of torque is available in the 3LT and Premier and standard in the RS. Both engines link up to a nine-speed automatic transmission, and although front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available. If you purchase the RS trim, it will be eligible for a more advanced twin-clutch AWD system.
According to the official EPA fuel economy listings, FWD Blazers with the 2.0-liter turbo achieve an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. With AWD, they fulfill 22 city/27 highway. Blazers with the V6 and FWD get 19 city/27 highway, and with AWD, they return 19 city/26 highway. If towing is of concern, note that 2023 Blazers with the V6 engine and the available Trailering Package will be able to handle as much as 4,500 lb.
The refreshed Blazer is provided with an ample supply of premium equipment. The 2LT gets exterior LED lighting, heated side mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, four USB ports, and dual-zone automatic climate control. This trim also has the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system, which consists of a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, a six-speaker audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The 3LT adds roof rails, auto-dimming side mirrors with turn-signal indicators, a power liftgate, heated front seats with passenger-side power adjustments, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, perforated leather seats, and a synthetic-leather steering wheel.
The RS receives a hands-free liftgate, black bowtie emblems, a signature RS grille, a 120-volt power outlet, an 8-inch gauge cluster, ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel, and a wireless phone charger. On top of that, the RS gets Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium, which includes navigation, enhanced voice recognition, and a premium eight-speaker Bose audio system. The Premier lacks the RS’s black emblems and signature grille, but it has everything else, along with its own trim-specific grille, chrome exterior accents, and bright front sill plates.
The ‘23 Blazer embraces a series of advanced driving aids via the Chevy Safety Assist suite. The 2LT has forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, a following distance indicator, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, a rear seat reminder, and Teen Driver (which is a sophisticated driving aid that provides support and education for new drivers along with feedback for their guardians). The remaining trims have lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
If you want to further raise the cosmetic appeal of your ‘23 Blazer, there are two special edition options you can choose from. The Midnight/Sport Edition – available for the 2LT and 3LT trims – gives off a menacing vibe with its 18-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels, gloss-black grille bar and nameplate, and black front and rear Chevy bowtie emblems and mirrors. The Redline Edition sings a more athletic song, taking several of those blacked-out elements (it’s also offered for the 2LT and 3LT trims). It’s differentiated by its 20-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels with sporty red accents, black badging with red outlines, a black grille and header bar, and black door handles.
Chevy also offers a medley of upgrade packages. The Convenience Package for the 2LT bundles adaptive cruise control, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, a wireless phone charger, a power liftgate, roof rails, and enhanced automatic emergency braking. The Driver Confidence II Package for the RS and Premier comes with a safety alert seat, a surround-view camera, a rear camera mirror with a built-in washer, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced automatic emergency braking.
The RS and Premier are also eligible for the Enhanced Convenience Package, which provides position memory settings (for the side mirrors, steering wheel, and driver’s seat), a power tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and heated rear outboard seats. The 3LT can be ordered with the Sound & Technology Package, which has adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, a surround-view camera, a wireless phone charger, a 120-volt power outlet, and the rear camera mirror/washer combo.
