Express Cargo

The 2023 Express Cargo Van is a rear-drive, two- or-five-passenger body-on-frame work van that’s offered in 2500 and 3500 payload configurations, regular and extended wheelbase lengths (which measure out to 135 inches and 155 in., respectively), and a single trim level called WT. Its standard powertrain pairs a 4.3-liter V6 engine (276 hp and 298 lb.-ft. of torque) with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The available upgraded powertrain consists of a 6.6-liter V8 (401 hp and 464 lb.-ft. of torque) and a heavy-duty six-speed automatic gearbox. The maximum payload for the 2500 with the V6 is 3,280 pounds, but with the V8, it can carry up to 4,280 lb.

The WT is set up with a swing-out passenger-side door, manual air conditioning, power windows and door locks, a two-speaker sound system, an array of power outlets (both 12V and 120V), and a rearview camera. It also has heated side mirrors, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Three distinct upgrade packages are offered to help you customize the van to your preferences. The Communications Package bundles a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a USB port, Bluetooth (for hands-free phone and audio streaming), and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Enhanced Convenience Package provides remote keyless entry and ignition and heavy-duty trailering equipment, and the Safety Package contains side blind-zone alert and rear parking sensors. Plus, these amenities are common to all three packages: the V8 engine, a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, and a one-year trial of OnStar Vehicle Insights. Chevy also offers these a la carte options: an auto-locking rear differential, swing-out rear doors, chrome exterior accents, power-adjustable front seats, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, rear AC vents, and a spray-in cargo liner.

Express Passenger

The Express Passenger Van is also rear-drive, available in 2500 and 3500 payload configurations, and offered with either a regular or extended wheelbase. Only the 3500, though, is eligible for the extended wheelbase, which increases seating from 12 to 15. The Passenger Van offers the same powertrains as the Cargo Van, but its payload capacities are different (2,550 lb. with the 2500 and 3,540 lb. with the 3500). There are two trim levels for the Passenger van: LS and LT. The 2500 LS is more basic, getting the same features as the WT Cargo Van plus swing-out rear doors, while the 3500 LS gains a tilt steering wheel and cruise control.

The 2500 LT comes with the tilting steering wheel and cruise control, and both the 2500 and 3500 add chrome exterior trim, remote keyless entry, carpeted floors, lane departure warning, and forward collision alert (which are all available for the LS). Buyers of either trim can opt for Bluetooth hands-free, SiriusXM, side blind-zone alert, rear parking sensors, an automatic locking rear differential, a passenger-side sliding door, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start, and power-adjustable front seats.
