Buyers who snag this final Camaro model will get to choose from two body styles (Coupe and Convertible) and seven trim levels (1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1). The 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT come with a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine that puts out 335 hp and 284 lb.-ft. of torque, while the LT1, 1SS, and 2SS receive a 6.2-liter V8 making 455 hp and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. The raucous ZL1 uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that produces 650 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, ensuring peak performance for adrenaline seekers. All trims have rear-wheel drive.
A six-speed manual transmission comes standard, but there’s an optional 10-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Fuel efficiency varies from trim to trim, with most achieving an EPA-estimated 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. The ZL1 is the exception, as it returns 14 mpg city/20 mpg highway.
The 1LT is stocked with power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control with a single-zone, and all-season tires on 18-inch wheels, while the 2LT upgrades to dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats. The 3LT is enhanced with a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, heated side-view mirrors featuring driver’s side auto-dimming, plus position memory settings (for the driver’s seat and side mirrors), a reconfigurable 8-inch driver information display, aluminum interior décor, a head-up display, illuminated sill plates, ambient interior lighting, and a rear camera mirror. The LT1 has similar equipment to the 2LT, although without the dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats. It places greater emphasis on performance with the V8 engine and Brembo front brakes, though.
The 1SS boosts excitement with trim-specific SS Brembo front and rear brakes and 20-inch wheels with rear Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3R summer performance tires. It also gets the 8-inch driver information display not seen in the LT1. The 2SS is even more desirable, adding leather upholstery, automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charging, ambient interior lighting, heated side-view mirrors with driver’s side auto-dimming, position memory settings, dual-zone aluminum interior trim, a head-up display, a rear camera mirror. The ZL1 is primed for all-out performance, boasting an electronic limited-slip differential, Magnetic Ride Control, exclusive 20-inch wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G:2 rear tires, and a sueded microfiber-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
Many of those high-end features are available for the lower trims as options. Some of the Camaro’s other add-ons worth mentioning include a drive mode selector (with settings for Sport, Snow/Ice, and Tour) and a Launch Control feature. What’s more, the 1LE, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1 are eligible for a Performance Data Recorder, which lets you capture videos of your drive and track the improvement of your performance.
All 2024 Camaro trims are reinforced with an assembly of airbags, but the 3LT, 2SS, and ZL1 also get some advanced safety technologies. That list includes forward collision alert, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.
The 1LT, 2LT, and LT1 are each supplied with the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, which includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, and a six-speaker sound system. The 3LT, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1 move up to the improved Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus setup with an 8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, and a first-rate Bose audio system providing nine speakers in the Coupe and seven in the Convertible. Onboard navigation is available for the 3LT, 2SS, and ZL1.
If you like options, there are a lot of decisions to make with the 2024 Camaro. The most newsworthy package is the Collector Edition, which celebrates the Camaro’s legacy with a Collector Edition exterior badge. Its other distinct features include a sueded microfiber-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel (also with a signature badge), and a distinctive logo on the floor mats and spoiler stripe. Most Collector Edition Camaros get the Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint, except for the ZL1, which has the softer Panther Black Matte paint. The ZL1 Collector Edition is also distinguished by its carbon-fiber weave rear spoiler (Coupe only), front splitter, and 20-inch Dark Graphite wheels.
Aside from the Collector Edition, there’s the RS Package (available for the 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, and LT1) that will deliver signature LED lighting, dark tinted taillights, black front and rear bowtie emblems, signature RS grilles, a decklid-mounted lip spoiler (Coupe) or Stanchion spoiler (Convertible), and gray 20-inch wheels. The Technology Package is offered for the 1LT, 2LT, and LT1; it delivers the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Plus system upgrade (8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, and Bose audio system).
The 1SS and 2SS qualify for the 1LE Track Performance Package, which consists of black exterior accents (for the hood wrap, front splitter, side mirrors, and rear blade spoiler), Satin Graphite 20-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 performance tires, Brembo brakes with red calipers, a performance-tuned suspension (with unique bushings, springs, and stabilizer bars), a dual-mode exhaust, an electronic limited-slip differential, Recaro front bucket seats, and a suede-wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel and shift knob.
The already decked-out ZL1 is not without customization opportunity, as it’s eligible for the limited availability 1LE Extreme Track Performance Package. In addition to the black hood wrap and darkened taillights contained in the other Track Performance Package, it adds a special front splitter, front dive planes, a carbon weave hood insert and rear spoiler, gloss-black side mirrors, black 19-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3R tires, red brake calipers with the 1LE logo, and a performance suspension with DSSV dampers, adjustable camber plates, rear stabilizer bars, and front springs.
