The consumer-targeted Silverado EV comes in a single, richly equipped trim, the First Edition RST. Configured with a five-passenger crew cab and a 71-inch cargo bed, this all-electric pickup boasts a dual-motor (one per axle) Ultium drive system that produces up to 754 horsepower and 785 lb.-ft. of torque (in Wide Open Watts boost mode). In addition to standard all-wheel drive, the included four-wheel-steering system makes for quicker lane changes and easier tight-space maneuvering. Its 800-volt power architecture enables fast charging (adding as much as 100 miles of range in 10 minutes), with an EPA-estimated range of 440 miles from full charge. The Silverado First Edition RST can tow up to 10,000 pounds or handle a payload of 1,500 pounds.
The Silverado EV RST’s list of standard equipment is extensive. It starts with elements such as an automatic adaptive air suspension (which can raise and lower the vehicle by up to 2 inches), the Multi-Flex Midgate, and the PowerBase charging system with up to 11 outlets. The truck’s exterior features include a fixed-panel glass roof, a Multi-Flex Tailgate, a power hood for access to the eTrunk (front trunk), LED exterior lighting with automatic headlights, a spray-on bedliner, heated power side mirrors (power-folding), rain-sensing automatic windshield wipers, a soft roll-up tonneau cover, and 24-inch aluminum wheels.
The interior is well outfitted with EvoTex leatherette upholstery, heated/ventilated front seats with 12-way power controls, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, a driver’s position memory system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a power tilt-and-telescopic steering column, a digital rearview mirror, a digital key (smartphone app for access and starting), an 11-inch driver information display, wireless device charging, five USB ports, and ambient cabin lighting.
Chevrolet has installed many advanced driver-assist technologies in the 2024 Silverado EV RST. The list includes forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, blind-zone steering assist (with trailering), rear cross-traffic braking, intersection alert/automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, side bicyclist alert, rear pedestrian alert, reverse automatic braking, SuperCruise hands-free highway driving, and adaptive cruise control. A surround-view monitor is also standard, along with GM’s Safety Alert Seat (the driver’s seat vibrates as added notification for certain safety warnings), enhanced automatic parking assist, following distance indicator, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, driver attention assist, and speed limit assist. As far as more traditional safety features, the RST gets seven airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a rearview monitor.
EVs tend to have large interior screens, and the Silverado EV RST upholds this trend with its 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen. This multimedia system comes with Google built-in capabilities including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other popular apps. Occupants will also enjoy a seven-speaker Bose audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar/Chevrolet Connected Services.
