Equinox shoppers will find three versions for model year 2025: LT, RS, and ACTIV. All trims have a 175-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive (FWD) editions use a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while all-wheel drive (AWD) versions employ an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Equinox can tow up to 1,500 pounds with AWD and supporting equipment such as the factory-supplied trailer hitch. Cargo capacity is 29.8 cubic feet behind the rear seat and 63.5 cubic feet with the back seat folded.
As the base trim, the LT is still well equipped with luxury-level amenities such as heated front seats, a heated steering wheel with a tilt-and-telescopic column, LED exterior lighting, and remote start. It also has fabric upholstery, proximity keyless entry, push-button ignition, active noise cancellation, an 11-inch driver information display, manual climate control, heated power side-view mirrors, rear privacy glass, four USB ports (two per row), and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
The RS trim gets upgraded with Evotex leatherette upholstery, a hands-free power liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar controls, a heated wiper park, roof rails, a wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, rain-sensing automatic windshield wipers, wireless device charging, and 19-inch wheels. The ACTIV retains most of the features of the RS but drops the flat-bottomed steering wheel and adds upholstery in a blend of Evotex and sueded microfiber, along with all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels. Chevy gives each edition a unique front fascia, exclusive wheels, and other individual exterior treatments to distinguish the trims further.
All 2025 Equinox trims include Chevy Safety Assist with forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking with intersection support, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, side bicyclist alert, lane-keeping assist with lane departure warning, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, rear cross-traffic braking, adaptive cruise control, safety alert seat (the driver’s seat vibrates during certain safety notifications), rear parking sensors, a following distance indicator, rear seat reminder, and automatic high beams. The Equinox also offers Teen Driver technology, allowing parents to set vehicle parameters and review their teen’s driving performance through the myChevrolet mobile app. A surround-view monitor, rear pedestrian alert, traffic sign recognition, and a digital rearview mirror are optional on all Equinox trims.
Infotainment for the 2025 Equinox is controlled through a standard 11.3-inch touchscreen system, which is more than 30% larger than the largest screen offered in the previous model. The system features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, Google built-in services (for Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other features), and a six-speaker audio setup. All trims have access to a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and OnStar for safety, entertainment, and convenience features.
