Trims, Powertrains, and Cab Configurations

The 2025 Silverado 1500 has nine trim levels: WT (Work Truck), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, ZR2, and High Country. Buyers have multiple engine options to choose from. The TurboMax, a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, generates 310 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. The 5.3-liter V8 produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, while the larger 6.2-liter V8 makes 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Chevrolet also offers the turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder Duramax Diesel that produces 305 horsepower and 495 lb.-ft. of torque.

Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard for most trims, with four-wheel drive (4WD) standard on the Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss, and ZR2 and optional on the rest. The TurboMax engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while all other engines use a ten-speed automatic. For cab configurations, the 2025 Silverado 1500 offers three choices: regular cab (two doors, available only with the WT trim), double cab (featuring two full front doors and two smaller rear doors), and crew cab (with four full-sized doors). Bed lengths include short (69.9 inches, for the crew cab only), standard (79.4 inches), and long (98.2 inches, offered only with the regular cab). The specific availability of the powertrains and cab configurations varies according to the trim and other factors.

Fuel efficiency, towing, and payload capabilities vary depending on the engine, drivetrain, cab style, and equipment. The TurboMax four-cylinder achieves an EPA-estimated 17 to 19 mpg in the city and 18 to 22 mpg on the highway. The 5.3-liter V8 is rated for 15 to 17 mpg in town and 19 to 21 mpg on the open road. The 6.2-liter V8 offers 14 to 16 mpg in the city and 17 to 20 mpg on the highway. The Duramax Diesel delivers 21 to 24 mpg in the city and 23 to 29 mpg on the highway. The maximum towing capacity is 13,300 pounds, and the Silverado can handle up to 2,260 pounds of payload.

Standard Features

The base Silverado 1500 WT features single-zone air conditioning, a split-folding front bench (40/20/40), automatic halogen headlights, vinyl-covered floors, heated power side mirrors (on regular cab), a manually operated tailgate, black bumpers, a 3.5-inch driver information display, two USB ports, and 17-inch steel wheels. The Custom trim adds remote start, cruise control, a ten-way power driver’s seat, a trailering package, a power locking and release tailgate, body-colored bumpers, rear privacy glass, carpeted flooring, a rear-window defogger, a manual-tilt steering wheel, an anti-theft system, four USB ports (two per row), and 20-inch aluminum wheels.

For those interested in enhanced off-road performance, the Custom Trail Boss has specialized features such as a trail-tuned suspension, a factory-installed 2-inch lift, monotube shocks, an automatic locking rear differential, skid plates, hill descent control, black exterior accents, and 18-inch wheels with mud-terrain tires. The Silverado takes on more comfort and convenience elements with the LT and its heated driver and front outboard passenger seats, a ten-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument display, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, LED headlights, an EZ Lift assist tailgate, a trailer brake controller, chrome bumpers, and 17-inch wheels. Leather upholstery and front bucket seats are also available for this trim.

The RST continues with many of the LT’s features but brings a sportier flair with LED fog lights, signature LED taillights, black exterior accents, body-colored bumpers, and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The LT Trail Boss combines most of the amenities of the LT trim with the rugged capability of the Custom Trail Boss. It also features high-gloss black bumpers and additional blacked-out exterior details for a more aggressive look than the standard LT.

The LTZ takes the Silverado into upscale territory, offering perforated leather-trimmed seating, ten-way power front seats (heated and ventilated), a driver’s memory system, a heated steering wheel, a power-operated tailgate, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, power-folding heated power side mirrors, chrome exterior accents, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. Beyond that, it gets a high-capacity suspension to assist in off-pavement driving.

For unmatched off-road capability, the ZR2 comes with a high-performance suspension with a factory lift and Multimatic DSSV dampers, front- and rear-locking differentials, robust underbody aluminum skid plates, a two-speed terrain-mode transfer case, a spray-on bedliner, unique interior and exterior styling, and exclusive 18-inch wheels. At the top of the lineup, the High Country trim delivers the ultimate luxury, incorporating the features of the LTZ along with heated rear outboard seats, a power-sliding rear window, a spray-on bedliner, additional chrome accents, and a unique grille.

Both setups support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, and a multi-speaker audio system. A high-end seven-speaker Bose audio system is available for the RST and LT Trail Boss and standard on the LTZ, ZR2, and High Country. SiriusXM satellite radio is included with most trims but is optional for the WT. All trims provide access to a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar, and other connected services.
