The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe comes in a half-dozen trim choices: LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier, and High Country. While they all use a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be configured as rear-wheel drive (RWD) or four-wheel drive (4WD), there are three powerplants on offer. All trims get a 5.3-liter V8 (355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque), with the exception of the High Country, which comes with a 6.2-liter V8 (420 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque). The Z71, RST, and Premier are eligible to upgrade to this stronger V8. A 3.0-liter Duramax inline-six turbo-diesel engine (305 hp and 495 lb.-ft.) is an option for all but the LS.
The EPA-estimated fuel economy for a RWD Tahoe with the 5.3-liter V8 is 15 mpg city/20 mpg highway, changing to 15 mpg city/19 mpg highway with 4WD. As of this writing, the fuel economy numbers for the Duramax diesel had not been released. The towing capacity of the ’25 Tahoe is in the neighborhood of 8,000-plus pounds, depending on the driveline and trim level.
The LS comes with a front-row bench seat, enabling it to carry nine passengers. It’s also well equipped with a multitude of standard features, including remote start, premium cloth upholstery in jet-black, an eight-way power front passenger seat, a manual-folding second row 60/40 split bench seats, a 60/40 split-folding third-row bench seat, tri-zone automatic climate control, USB data ports, a 4.2-inch diagonal color driver information center, rain-sensing automatic wipers, body-color power heated mirrors, three 12-volt power outlets (located in the second row and cargo area), a front outboard passenger-sensing system, rear air-conditioning vents, a manual tilt/telescoping wrapped steering wheel, a cargo management system, upper active aero shutters, LED daytime running lights, LED headlamps with IntelliBeam automatic high beams, black running boards, and 18-inch bright silver painted aluminum wheels. The LT moves to first-row bucket seats and adds wireless device charging, a 12-inch color driver information center, leather upholstery, heated 10-way power driver and front passenger seats, driver’s-side memory, a universal home remote, bright-finished roof-mounted side rails, and a hands-free power liftgate with emblem projection.
The Z71 is ready for the dusty trails with a two-speed transfer case, front and rear skid plates, a front fascia with a high approach angle, hill descent control, black roof-mounted side rails, and 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with technical gray pockets. The RST drops those off-road attributes but gets the features listed for the LT plus perforated leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an upgraded suspension, black exterior elements, LED fog lights, and 22-inch wheels.
The Premier adds 12-way power driver and front passenger seats, heated and ventilated driver and front passenger seats, driver memory settings power-release, heated second-row captain’s chairs (limiting passenger capacity to seven), GM’s magnetic ride control suspension, a power 60/40 split-folding third-row bench, a power tilt and telescoping steering column, a heated steering wheel, a power-sliding center console, chrome door handles with a body-color strip, chrome mirror caps, body-color heated driver-side auto-dimming outside mirrors, and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. The top-of-the-line High Country is appointed with a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, a rear camera mirror washer, trim-specific exterior elements, real wood trim (interior), and 22-inch sterling silver premium-painted wheels with chrome inserts.
All Tahoes are equipped with Chevy Safety Assist, the automaker’s suite of safety features and driver assistance technologies. These include automatic emergency braking with intersection support, forward collision alert, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, side bicyclist alert, blind-zone steering assist, reverse automatic braking, rear pedestrian alert, enhanced automatic parking assist, lane change alert with side blind-zone alert, and HD surround vision.
GM’s Teen Driver technology and an HD rear-vision camera are included as well. Super Cruise, Chevrolet’s hands-free-driving technology is available on the LT, RST, Premier, and High Country. The novel trailering technologies introduced as part of this Tahoe refresh include Trailer Tire Health monitoring, Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info (for the vehicle’s load rating), and Forward Path Indication (to help with trailer navigation).
Every Tahoe has a class-leading 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Sirius XM satellite radio, Bluetooth, voice recognition, and subscription-based capability for a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar and Chevrolet connected services, and navigation. The LT, RST, and Z71 trims get upgraded from the more basic six-speaker audio setup to a Bose system with nine speakers. The Premier and High Country are loaded with a 10-speaker Bose CenterPoint surround audio system. A rear-seat media system is available on the LT and above.
