Chevy gives Trailblazer buyers a choice of four trim packages: LS, LT, RS, and ACTIV. Its standard 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder makes 137 horsepower and uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This powertrain is front-wheel drive. The available 155-horsepower 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.
With FWD and the 1.2-liter engine, the Trailblazer returns an EPA-estimated 30 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway (22 city/23 highway with E85). The configuration with FWD and the 1.3-liter engine achieves fuel economy of 29 city/33 highway. With AWD, the stronger powertrain’s fuel use ratings will dip to 26 mpg city and 29 mpg highway.
The LS contains cloth upholstery, manually adjustable front bucket seats (6-way driver, 4-way passenger), single-zone manual climate control, an 8-inch diagonal driver info display, two USB ports, a 40/60 split-folding rear bench seat, a flat-folding front passenger seatback, a manual rearview day/night mirror, LED headlamps, power-adjustable folding outside mirrors, and 17-inch silver aluminum wheels. Its available LS Convenience Package adds remote start and deep-tinted rear glass. The LT has keyless open with remote start, roof-mounted side rails, signature LED daytime running lamps, deep-tinted rear glass, and 17-inch gloss-black machined aluminum wheels with an available panoramic power sunroof. The Blackout Package is optional for both the LS and LT; it adds a black grille bar, front and rear black bowtie emblems, and a black Trailblazer nameplate. The LT Cold Weather Package is offered for the addition of heated front seats, a heated wrapped steering wheel, and a wrapped shift knob.
The RS has standard Evotex upholstery, heated front seats, a heated and wrapped flat-bottomed steering wheel, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way lumbar support, a rear center armrest, a chromed shift knob, LED taillights, red interior accents, and 19-inch gloss-black machined aluminum wheels.
The ACTIV adds an off-road-tuned suspension, a black mesh grille with chromed titanium accents, a functional skid plate, front and rear Black bowtie emblems, a dual-outlet exhaust with trapezoidal polished tips, and 17-inch gloss-black machined aluminum wheels with sport terrain tires. The available Convenience Package (all but the LS are eligible) contains automatic climate control, rear USB ports, a 120-volt power outlet, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, front sliding visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, wireless device charging, a rear center armrest (LT), an eight-way power driver seat with two-way power lumbar support (LT), a power liftgate (LT), or a hands-free power programmable liftgate (RS and ACTIV).
Chevy includes the Safety Assist suite of driver aids and safety technology on every Trailblazer trim. This driver-assist bundle consists of automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, an HD rear-vision camera, forward collision alert, GM’s Teen Driver technology, front pedestrian braking, and automatic high-beams. The available Driver Confidence Package (for LT, RS, and ACTIV) will furnish rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, blind-spot monitoring, and rear park assist; the RS and Activ can be equipped with adaptive cruise control.
The Trailblazer has an 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition. The features found in all trims are SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless smartphone connection (Android Auto Apple CarPlay), Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, OnStar One Essentials compatibility, and a six-speaker sound system with an amplifier. The RS and ACTIV are eligible for an optional Bose setup with seven speakers.
