Trims, Design, and Furnishings
The next-generation Silverado will present a streamlined lineup, reduced from nine trims to seven with the discontinuation of the RST and LTZ. The mid-grade LT will be renamed Silverado, while the sophisticated yet rugged LT Trail Boss will drop “LT” from its name. Otherwise, the Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2 will return, giving buyers a wide range of options suited to the jobsite, the backcountry, and everything in between. The redesigned exterior will adopt a powerful stance accentuated by prominent wheel moldings and rocker panels. New two-part signature LED headlights will highlight the squared-off front end, extending lower than their predecessors to fully frame the new grille, while updated LED taillights will sharpen the rear styling beneath a high-mounted center brake light.
The Work Truck will retain its position as the utilitarian, task-oriented base model built for commercial and fleet use, although Chevrolet has released little information regarding its 2027 updates. The versatile Custom will keep its 20-inch wheels but trade Bright Silver paint for a Technical Gray machine finish. Dual exhaust outlets, a feature previously reserved for the High Country and ZR2, will also extend to the Custom and all higher trims. The Custom Trail Boss will keep off-roading accessible with its standard 2-inch lift kit, while the rebranded Silverado trim will make the formerly optional Z71 Off-Road Package standard on the 4WD version.
The renamed Trail Boss will receive a new flat-bottomed steering wheel and the same Torch Red interior accents as the high-performance ZR2. The luxury-focused High Country will grab everyone’s attention with an exclusive Tritan Satin grille and new 22-inch After Midnight wheels. The ZR2’s interior will gain new Torch Red-accented seat belts and other elements and will be the first GM vehicle to have genuine, forged carbon-fiber detailing. The ZR2’s Bison Edition will continue to add heavy-duty bumpers, steel underbody protection, and beadlock-capable wheels developed in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles. Chevrolet is touting the 2027 Silverado ZR2, the model’s top-ranking trim, as the most capable off-road Silverado to date. This range-topper will carry over its standard Multimatic DSSV suspension with jounce dampers, but it will ride on new 35-inch off-road tires.
